Alex joined the team at Activate Physio and Pilates after completing the Master of Physiotherapy post-graduate degree at Curtin University. Alex has a Bachelor of Sport Science, Exercise and Health from UWA and has had several years of experience working with sporting injuries and rehabilitation, particularly in Rugby and Football, giving her an extensive understanding of the requirements and different injuries of a wide variety of sports. Alex also has a strong interest in rowing injuries and rehabilitation, having competed several times at a national level as a lightweight sculler, which has also given her personal experience in managing a high training load, even in the presence of an injury.
Alex is a certified clinical pilates practitioner and regularly utilises these skills in a wide range of her patients as an assessment tool, and in developing effective and individualised exercise based rehabilitation programs to ensure the best results whether the goal is injury prevention, managing acute injuries or chronic pain. Alex has completed additional training in dry needling and its use in the effective release of muscular trigger points.
