Katie has a wide range of experience within the hospital and private practice settings. Katie has an interest in sports and fitness, and is the principal instructor for our Pilates classes at Claremont and is a qualified Level 4 DMA Clinical Pilates instructor, using Pilates and exercise programs to aid in rehabilitation and prevention of injury.
She is passionate about working with children and has been instrumental in setting up our free scoliosis screening service in partnership with local radiology clinics, as well as developing posture, core strength and corrective exercise classes for teens. Katie also has experience in women’s health and the real-time ultrasound assessment of pelvic floor, deep abdominals and lower back muscles.
Katie has been involved with the UWA Nedlands Soccer Club, providing physiotherapy to their state league team. Katie is also a keen triathlete who has competed in events such as the Busselton Half Ironman, and the Rottnest Channel Swim and offers in depth biomechanical assessments for swimming, cycling and running. She also provides a comprehensive bike fit service to match your bike to your body.
Katie has also completed post graduate study relating to workplace injuries, compensation and the return to work process. She has an in depth understanding of ergonomics, manual handling and the modification of workplace tasks and conditions to enable a timely and smooth return to work after a work related injury.
